Billy lives with his father, his brother and his grandmother in a poor mining town in northern England. Every Saturday the boys of the town do boxing training, and the girls in the town do ballet in the same hall. Billy´s father wants Billy to box, like he did and like his father did. Billy tries boxing but doesn´t quite like it. Instead he becomes fascinated by ballet....
